Native Youth Protection Alliance
Behind the screen, Native youth are being targeted, isolated, and pushed toward despair — often without families realizing it.
NYPA runs national public-awareness campaigns and funds Native-led youth protection efforts to help families recognize the threat sooner — before it’s too late.
Donations support awareness campaigns and organizations devoted to
protecting Native youth from digital harm.
Digital harm is not abstract.
It is happening every day, behind screens families can’t see.
Native youth are being exposed to predatory content, online exploitation, and social platforms that amplify isolation and despair.
Algorithms reward harmful behavior.
Silence allows it to spread.
Too often, families don’t realize what’s happening until it’s too late.
Native youth face a growing crisis fueled by digital addiction, online isolation, and targeted online harms. Social media algorithms accelerate despair, amplify negativity, and expose vulnerable teens to bullying, exploitation, and misinformation — all while removing them from the real-world support systems they desperately need.
These digital pressures have become a powerful upstream driver of suicide risk in Native communities, where teens already face disproportionate challenges. Families and local programs are doing everything they can—but they shouldn’t have to face this crisis alone.
NYPA exists to shine a light on this crisis and to mobilize national support so trusted Native-led organizations can provide direct crisis intervention, digital safety programs, and culturally grounded youth protection services.
Digital harm — addiction, isolation, and online despair — is intensifying the crisis in ways
families often don’t see until it’s too late.
NYPA shines a spotlight on this invisible danger and strengthens Native-led youth protection
